We are so thrilled to finally share Pelin and Moritz’s stunning wedding at the Doctor’s House. We were particularly captivated by their love story and wedding journey to find the Chapel and the Doctor’s House as their dream ceremony space. After a tremendous year for local Toronto weddings, it was such a joy creating a magical wedding at the Doctor’s House. Just minutes outside of Toronto, surrounded by a quaint town and garden space in Kleinburg,, we brought to life Pelin and Mortiz’s beautiful wedding! When Pelin and Moritz were in search of a local wedding vendor, they already had a clear vision of what they wanted their wedding to look like – we carefully executed their dream wedding using beautiful wedding flowers to match their colour palette and design, a gorgeous arch rental, and elegant garden-style bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids.
The Perfect Chapel
Pelin had been born in Istanbul, Turkey, and throughout her years, traveled Europe extensively and specifically fell in love with the romantic architecture of small town chapels, she told me upon our first consultation. She dreamed of getting married in a church or chapel and envisioned herself walking along a cobblestone street leading to a small chapel in Lake Como, Italy, just as she’s seen a bride do during her travels. When Moritz proposed, Pelin knew she couldn’t settle for anything less than perfect, but had to find a Chapel here, near Toronto. After extensive searching, and what proved to be a challenging endeavour (since many churches require the couple to be baptised) Pelin’s dream started to fizzle into a reaching hope, until they discovered the perfect Chapel at the Doctor’s House. She marvelled at the dark wood and gothic elements of the chapel which she described to be accompanied by a “minimalist, modern, and organic feel”. Her dream: a beloved pinterest wedding featuring a dark wooden arch, a particularly stunning colour palette and intertwining greenery and florals. Our bride also had a love for baby’s, which we sprinkled in tastefully. Using our arch rentals, we custom stained a 7’x7’ arch to fit the Chapel’s existing wooden beams, and dressed it up in elegant blooms for their I’Do’s.
The Design Process
We worked closely with Pelin, who was quite frankly, the most creative, hands- on bride we’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. She designed her own stationary, table settings and numbers, and together, we aligned on rose varieties to match her envisioned colour palette of a dusty, rosewood wedding. Her heart being set on Pantone 17164 rose wood with burgundy accents and necessary peonies in her bridal bouquet made the perfect modern garden theme with a touch of color. We sourced local farm grown lisianthus and show-stopper cappuccino roses, café lattes and amnesia roses with a touch of white and blush butterfly ranunculus for the “dancer” blooms. Our elegant centerpieces and bouquets have movement, class, and style, and is something we take pride in enormously. To this day, I’m still swooning over the creative design and day of wedding execution.
The Reception
The natural bright lit garden room at the Doctor’s House was complimented by pops of rose wood and the ceiling beams were dressed in foliage cascading down, enveloping the room and bringing this incredible garden wedding indoors. Candle-lit, for an enchanting experience, Pelin and Moritz’s dream wedding came to life. Congratulations once again to these beautiful souls, inside and out – it was an honour to be part of your wedding and an even bigger honour to be your friend!
